إعلام البلدية:
أكدت بلدية غزة أن اقتراب موسم الأمطار سيؤدي إلى تفاقم الكارثة الإنسانية التي تعيشها المدينة، في ظل حالة الدمار غير المسبوق التي طالت البنية التحتية والمنشآت المدنية والمرافق العامة، وتكدس كميات كبيرة من النفايات في قلب المدينة، إضافة إلى تدفق المياه العادمة في الشوارع وامتلاء برك تجميع مياه الأمطار.
وأوضحت البلدية أن استمرار حرب الإبادة، وعدم تزويدها بالاحتياجات الطارئة من آليات ووقود ومعدات، إلى جانب تعطّل مشاريع إعادة تأهيل المرافق المدمرة، يشكل خطراً جسيماً على حياة المواطنين ويهدد بمضاعفة حجم الكارثة.
وبيّنت أن برك تجميع مياه الأمطار باتت ممتلئة بمياه الصرف الصحي، نتيجة توقف محطات الضخ عن العمل إثر الاجتياح البري الأخير، وعدم قدرة البلدية على الوصول إلى هذه المرافق وتشغيلها، ما ينذر بخطر كبير مع بدء موسم الأمطار.
وحذرت البلدية من أن غياب الإمكانيات اللازمة لمواجهة فصل الشتاء قد يؤدي إلى غرق المناطق المنخفضة والمحيطة ببرك الأمطار، إضافة إلى طفح شبكات الصرف الصحي، وهو ما ينذر بزيادة معدلات انتشار الأمراض والأوبئة.
وناشدت بلدية غزة المجتمع الدولي سرعة التدخل لإنقاذ الأوضاع الإنسانية في المدينة، والعمل على وقف حرب الإبادة، وتوفير الاحتياجات الطارئة للبلدية للحد من تفاقم الكارثة ودرء المخاطر التي تهدد حياة المواطنين.
Gaza Municipality: Approaching Rainy Season Will Exacerbate the Humanitarian Catastrophe in the City
Gaza Municipality affirmed that the approaching rainy season will exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the city, given the unprecedented destruction of infrastructure, public facilities, and civil institutions, alongside the accumulation of large amounts of solid waste in the city center, the overflow of sewage into streets, and the already overfilled stormwater ponds.
The Municipality explained that the continuation of the genocide, coupled with the lack of urgent supplies particularly vehicles, fuel, and essential equipment as well as the suspension of reconstruction projects for damaged facilities, poses a grave threat to residents’ lives and risks worsening the disaster.
It further noted that stormwater ponds have already been filled with sewage due to the shutdown of pumping stations following the recent ground invasion, and the Municipality’s inability to access and operate these facilities. This situation presents a serious threat as the rainy season begins.
The Municipality warned that the absence of the necessary resources to confront the winter season may result in the flooding of low-lying areas and neighborhoods surrounding the stormwater ponds, in addition to sewage overflows factors that could further accelerate the spread of diseases and epidemics.
Gaza Municipality urgently appeals to the international community to intervene without delay to save the humanitarian situation in the city, to work towards halting the genocide, and to provide the emergency supplies needed by the Municipality to mitigate the disaster and avert imminent risks to citizens’ lives.
