Uprooted 55,000 trees and destroyed 8 parks in the city

The Israeli aggression causes a significant health and environmental disaster.

The Municipality of Gaza (MoGaza) announced that the Israeli forces uprooted 55,000 trees and destroyed 8 parks in the city. during the aggression and genocide being committed against civilians and civic infrastructure in Gaza and the whole Strip.

The number of trees uprooted by the occupation in Gaza city are estimated at 55,000 trees, including mature fruit-bearing trees and decorative trees in streets and sidewalks. The occupation forces also destroyed 8 parks and public recreational areas in various parts of the city, and 20 tree-planted squares at major intersections.

The list of parks destroyed by the occupation included the Unknown Soldier Park and Gaza Central Park, which are among the largest and oldest parks in the city, AlZaitoun Park, Gaza Zoo, Barcelona Park, Beach Park, Brotherhood Park, Friendship Park, and the municipal nursery near in the northeast of the city.

Gaza Municipality stressed that this uprooting and destruction poses a great danger to the environment in the city and the Strip and seriously affects human life, as the occupation uprooted fruit-bearing and mature trees such as olive trees and other types in citizens' private farms.

 

MoGaza calls on the International Environmental Organization and all human rights organizations to urgently intervene and save human life and work to rebuild the city.
