شرعت بلدية غزة، بالتعاون مع اللجنة القطرية لإعادة إعمار غزة – المساعدات القطرية – بحملةٍ لإعادة فتح الشوارع المغلقة وإزالة الركام منها، لتمكين المواطنين من العودة إلى مناطقهم المتضررة من حرب الإبادة، وذلك ضمن الجهود التي تبذلها البلدية بالتعاون مع عدة مؤسسات شريكة.
وقال رئيس بلدية غزة، د. يحيى السراج، خلال مؤتمرٍ صحفي عقده لإطلاق حملة فتح الشوارع بالتعاون مع اللجنة القطرية، بحضور نائب رئيس البلدية تامر الريس، وعددٍ من أعضاء المجلس البلدي، وممثلين عن اللجنة القطرية، إن بلدية غزة تركز حالياً جهودها على إعادة فتح الشوارع الرئيسة بالتعاون مع اللجنة القطرية ومؤسساتٍ أخرى، وتمكين المواطنين من العودة إلى مناطق سكناهم.
وأضاف أن أولويات البلدية حالياً تتمثل في توفير الخدمات الأساسية، وعلى رأسها إعادة فتح الشوارع وإزالة الركام منها، وإعادة تأهيل مرافق المياه وتوصيلها إلى مختلف مناطق المدينة، ومعالجة كارثة الصرف الصحي الناجمة عن تدمير الاحتلال لشبكات الصرف الصحي، وجمع النفايات المتكدسة في الشوارع والتي تُسبب كارثة صحية وبيئية.
وشكر رئيس بلدية غزة دولةَ قطر على دعمها لمشروع إعادة فتح الشوارع وإغاثة الشعب الفلسطيني في القطاع، مطالباً المجتمع الدولي بضرورة التدخل السريع للتخفيف من حجم الكارثة الإنسانية التي تعيشها المدينة، بسبب تدمير الاحتلال خلال حرب الإبادة لمختلف المنشآت الخدمية والمدنية.
ويستمر مشروع إعادة فتح الشوارع الذي تنفذه البلدية بالتعاون مع اللجنة القطرية لمدة ثلاثين يوماً، ويشمل تشغيل عشرات الآليات من القطاع الخاص لفتح الشوارع في مختلف مناطق المدينة، وإزالة الركام منها، وتسهيل حركة السير، وعودة المواطنين إلى مناطقهم.

The Campaign Begins on Al-Shaaf Street in Eastern Gaza City
Gaza Municipality and the Qatari Committee Launch a Campaign to Reopen Closed Streets
Gaza Municipality, in cooperation with the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza – Qatari Aid – has launched a campaign to reopen closed streets and remove debris, enabling citizens to return to areas affected by the genocide war. The initiative comes as part of the municipality’s broader efforts in collaboration with several partner institutions.
During a press conference announcing the launch of the street reopening campaign, Gaza Mayor Dr. Yahya Al-Sarraj, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Tamer Al-Rees, members of the municipal council, and representatives of the Qatari Committee, stated that the municipality is currently focusing its efforts on reopening main streets in coordination with the Qatari Committee and other organizations to facilitate the return of residents to their homes.
Dr. Al-Sarraj emphasized that the municipality’s top priorities at this stage include restoring essential services particularly reopening streets and clearing debris, rehabilitating water networks and restoring water supply across the city, addressing the sewage crisis caused by the destruction of wastewater systems by the occupation, and collecting accumulated waste that poses severe health and environmental risks.
The Mayor expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for supporting the street reopening project and for its ongoing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He also called on the international community to take immediate action to mitigate the severe humanitarian crisis facing the city as a result of the occupation’s destruction of vital civil and public infrastructure during the genocide war.
The street reopening project, implemented by Gaza Municipality in cooperation with the Qatari Committee, will continue for approximately thirty days. It involves deploying dozens of private-sector vehicles and heavy machinery to clear debris, reopen roads across the city, improve traffic flow, and enable residents to return to their neighborhoods.
