Called for Participation in the “Life Appeal for Gaza” Campaign

Gaza Municipality Urges the International Community to End the Humanitarian Catastrophe and Support Efforts to Provide Essential Services

Gaza Municipality calls on the international community to urgently intervene to halt the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, ongoing for nearly two years, and to provide the necessary support to ensure the continuity of essential services for residents.

The Municipality stressed that the ongoing aggression on the Strip, particularly in Gaza City, along with the threat of a full-scale invasion, is aggravating the humanitarian disaster and endangering the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians still residing in the city.

It further explained that conditions in Gaza City are growing more difficult by the day as the aggression continues, pointing to the accumulation of large amounts of waste in the city center, the availability of less than 25% of daily water needs, and sewage overflow contaminating streets and rainwater collection areas.

The Municipality affirmed that it continues to carry out its humanitarian role in serving residents; however, it faces immense challenges that require urgent support from international institutions to help curb the deterioration of environmental and health conditions and to secure emergency needs.

Gaza Municipality has launched the “Life Appeal for Gaza” campaign, urging everyone to participate in signing and sharing the appeal, in order to generate public pressure to stop the aggression, secure essential services, and safeguard the foundations of life in the city.
